Ensure you comply with MEES rules

Since April 2020, MEES rules have applied to all lets and landlords, meaning an EPC rating of E or above is needed to let properties legally.

Key points to consider:

  • Cost
Making your property energy-efficient to comply with the EPC legislation could be as simple as upgrading your boiler, installing a new central heating system or having insulation installed. You just need to let your tenant know of any planned work.
  • Tenant eligibility
In many instances your tenant may be eligible for free or subsidised energy saving measures and you may only need to pay a small contribution towards the required upgrades.
  • Need an EPC?
Our experienced team of in-house surveyors can provide an EPC for £60 inclusive of VAT.
