Eileen's Story

Eileen is a Lancashire resident who upgraded the heating in her flat from old, inefficient storage heaters to new energy efficient High Heat Retention Storage Heaters

The old storage heaters were too expensive to run all the time. She was living in a cold flat that often felt damp too.

Upgrading to High Heat Retention Storage Heaters means she is now comfortable and cosy at home, without the worry of a hefty bill.

Eileen received the new heaters completely FREE through the local council’s affordable warmth scheme.

If your home sounds a little like Eileen’s flat used to, check to see if you qualify for new heaters and more.

Why install high heat retention storage heaters?

A high heat retention storage heater is a type of electric heater that is designed to store heat during off-peak electricity hours and then release that heat slowly over time. This allows the heater to use electricity at a lower cost, as off-peak rates are lower than peak rates.

If your property already has storage heaters, the easiest solution to make your home warmer and more energy efficient is to replace your old storage heaters with new, modern high heat retention storage heaters.

FAQs

How do high heat retention storage heaters work?

High heat retention storage heaters work by using off-peak energy to heat internal bricks. Then, the heat is stored until it is needed. Tom from Cosy Homes in Lancashire demonstrates how to use an Elnur high heat retention storage heater. Watch the video here.

Are high heat retention storage heaters good?

High heat retention storage heaters are designed to be used at a lower cost, helping you save on energy bills and keep your home warm.

How much do high heat retention storage heaters cost?

What is the most energy efficient storage heater?

If you’re eligible for a high heat retention storage heater, an Elnur heater will be installed. These are known for high functionality, adaptive start technology and open window detection.

We are delighted with what the 'Cosy Homes' scheme has done for us, greatly improving the quality of our lives, & also very importantly, relieving some of the stress & anxiety of the energy bills, as we are getting older. We have always worked very hard, & never had any grants or anything at all before, so we are extremely grateful, & we sincerely thank you all & very much appreciate everything. Also we are very pleased with all the various Tradesmen we had to deal with.

Thank you very much, the man from the van came. He did 2 doors with the raft, 2 radiators with the foil, he gave me two led light bulbs and a carbon monoxide alarm. Thank for your help, I really appreciate it.
