Cosy Homes in Lancashire hosting Warm Matters event in Chorley
Cosy Homes in Lancashire, your local Council affordable warmth initiative, recognises that fuel poverty is a significant issue in Lancashire, with 14% of the population living in fuel poverty and some areas having higher rates than the national average. Fuel Poverty is a stark reality that means more than 10% of the household’s income is going towards the cost of heating their home alone.
To support Fuel Poverty Awareness Day 2025, Cosy Homes in Lancashire are hosting free Warm Matters events across the county offering expert wellness advice, money guidance and support to everyone struggling this winter. The next event at Chorley Town Hall on 25th November is from 1pm – 4pm and you will also get the chance to enter a free prize draw to win cosy household items and appliances. Every resident attending the event will also receive a complimentary goody bag.
Stacey Walker, Affordable Warmth Lead Generation Officer for Cosy Homes in Lancashire who has planned each event said:
“For many households, choosing between heating your home or buying groceries is a challenge they face on a daily basis and Cosy Homes in Lancashire wants to reach out to everyone in this position to say that help and advice is there.
Please do join us at one of our 10 free events in support of fuel poverty awareness as we have a lot of organisations and partners joining us on the day who could really help you and your current situation as the winter chill hits begins to hit the region.”
