If you're a Lancashire resident, we'll be able to help you. Complete the application form and our team will be in touch to confirm your eligibility and options.

The Warm Homes: Local Grant

Air Source Heat Pumps can be funded through the Government's Warm Homes: Local Grant. For eligible residents, the grant could cover the cost of installation.

After applying, we'll review what measures your home needs. Under the Warm Homes: Local Grant, this could include insulation, air source heat pumps and solar panels. An air source heat pump will be installed if it is suitable for your home.

Next steps

1.

We'll contact you within 10 days to confirm eligibility. If eligible, a retrofit survey will be organised. This is to review the property and decide what measures are suitable.

2.

A contractor will then contact you to arrange a Technical Survey. This is an in-depth survey of the property to take the required measurements for installation.

3.

The contractor will then provide quotes and submit them to the Government for approval. Once approved, you will be contacted to arrange the installation date.

Why install air source heat pumps?

Advantages

  • Heat Pumps provide hot water and room heating
  • They are easy to install, are low maintenance and have a long lifespan
  • They help to reduce your Carbon Footprint
  •  Heat Pumps can be Solar powered
  • If you don't currently have radiators these will be installed on the Home Upgrade Grant

Considerations

  • You will need somewhere outside your home where it can be fitted to a wall or placed on the ground with space around it to allow a good air flow.
  • Some noise is created by the large internal fans. In normal conditions the noise should be similar to a fridge but, it can increase when it's working harder (when it's colder).
  • A standard heat pump does not provide instant hot water like a combi-boiler, so you would need a cylinder to store the hot water for when you need it. The size of the cylinder will depend on your household needs.

FAQs

How does an Air Source Heat Pump work?

Air Source Heat Pumps transfer heat from the air outside, into water which then heats your rooms via radiators or underfloor heating.

It can also provide hot water for your taps, bath and showers, which is stored in a hot water cylinder.

Heat from the air is absorbed into a fluid. This fluid then passes through a heat exchanger into the heat pump which raises the temperature and then transfers that heat to water.

What is the cost of running an Air Source Heat Pump?

Running costs will depend on how your heat pump is designed and operated and savings on your energy bills will depend on the system you are replacing.

Who manufactures our Air Source Heat Pumps?

Our preferred manufacturer of Air Source Heat Pump is Global Energy Systems, a family owned Lancashire based engineering company situated in Lytham, Lancashire.

All installers are Lancashire based and have been through the Global Energy Systems Training Programme.

We just wanted to say thank you to Cosy Homes and Lisa especially on Friday the 9th of January 2026 for all the help that we received from you after trying to get the WIFI and certificates that we required for our installation of Battery storage at our home.
