Modern Day Technologies Helping to Fight Increasing Energy Bills

Balcony Solar Panel

Several retailers have recently started selling plug in solar panels, also referred to as balcony panels. These will help households save up to approximately £120 per year, the cost of running a fridge/freezer. This is of course a much cheaper option compared to purchasing traditional solar panels that help produce energy thus reducing electricity bills. Balcony panels also provide an alternative to those that simply do not have access to roof space or other areas where they can be installed.

We have also noticed and encourage the uptake in batteries. Batteries compliment solar panels when combined as they store excess energy.  MCS report on the 20.8.26 that 92% of battery installations so far this year, have been installed onto properties with solar panels. The demand for batteries is demonstrated by the MCS graph below. If a household deploys a battery on its own the benefits are that it will charge from the grid when prices are lower. This enables a household to use electricity at a cheaper rate.
