The Sheffield Political Economy Research Institute (SPERI) have recently released a report that looked at ‘Eating or Heating’ and the impact of austerity.
This is an issue that in recent times has received a lot of political and media attention. This report summarises the research the that has gone into assessing to what extent it represents real-life experiences.
The docuement highlights how the issue is real and that low-income households in the UK are struggling to sufficiently eat and heat their homes and often tending to prioritise food over fuel.
