Replacing your gas boiler

Funding to replace gas boilers is extremely limited.

Government is currently directing funding towards renewable technologies so funding for gas boiler replacements is extremely limited and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to help you but we will try our best.

We are currently arranging surveys for boiler replacements but then it is likely you will be placed on a waiting list pending funding  which could be later this year. The Cosy Homes in Lancashire Team will explain the process to you when they book your survey.

Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Funding no longer funds the replacement of Condensing Boilers.

If you’re thinking about replacing your boiler, it’s important to know the different types and how they work. The size, type and make of boiler can all affect how much energy you use and how your home and hot water is heated.

When it comes to choosing a type of boiler, there are three main options to consider:

  • A Combi Boiler is a highly efficient way to heat your radiators and supply you with just the hot water you use combined (hence the name)
  • A Conventional boiler sends hot water to your radiators and water cylinder, where it is stored for you to use when you need it. It can be less efficient than a Combi but if your home is large and you have more than one bathroom it may be the best option.
  • A System boiler directly heats your central heating system and hot water for a sealed storage cylinder. It is also suitable for larger homes with more than one bathroom and can be easier to install than a Conventional boiler.

Gas boiler replacements often require a customer contribution however Cosy Homes in Lancashire will endeavour to source additional funding to cover the full cost of the works whenever possible. This will all be explained to you by the Admin Team so you can decide if you wish to go ahead. We will never present you with a bill without you knowing about it.
